What’s Stuck Inside the Bowl of this Pipe?

Is it possible that pipe was dipstained and that patch is residue from some kind of liner they later removed after dipstaining ? It looks like the beige part dripped down into the bowl which gave me the idea its some kind of stain that can be washed out. Left over piece of emory paper ??

looks like a repair where they found a large void after drilling out the chamber. That's the kind of thing that makes full price paying anger inducing but makes a big whatever at a lower price point.

I’m feeling unhappy with this pipe. The SELLER is suggesting there could have been a pit in the bowl and charcoal used and that this is normal. I don’t think it’s normal. I think it’s something one should know about?

Yes. It may be cracked as well. I may be wrong but I’m angry over this. I don’t like what’s going on in the bowl. It looks to me like something is being patched: maybe a pit or something. I could be wrong. If it’s me: I wouldn’t have sold that pipe. I’m not satisfied with it even if it was cheap. It’s not what I was expecting. Sorry for the rant. If it’s just the remnant of something that was on all of the bow, that’s no big deal. But it really looks like something of a fix. I could be wrong.

I don’t think this seller is malicious or bad. I’m not going to mention his shop or leave a bad review. I would have included a picture of this. It’s maybe mortar/pipe mud but it’s in one spot. There may be a small crack on the under-side of the pipe but I’m not concerned about it. It might just be a defect or effect of the finish.

Sounds like you have decided to return it as you are not satisfied. You're correct it should have been pointed out. I don't see the black paper on the right as the problem but the spot on the left does look like a pit fill in your photo. Return it and get your money back. just 2 cents

The seller and I came to a fair agreement about this. I do think I should have been told about this but I don’t think there was any deception at all here. It was just an oversight. I think the seller is honest and has a good shop. Just FYI.
