There's also a handful of online pipe repair places that will happily turn a longer stem but OP would need to send it off. Briarville's the first that springs to mind.If there's a tobacconist near you who sells pipes and offers maintenance and repairs for them, he might be able to help. He could make the long stem fit an existing pipe.
Biggest difference is the Churchwarden version of "clenching" is when you're sitting in a recliner the pipe rests on your belly, I've never been comfortable actually holding a pipe in my teeth but with the stem just propped up in your mouth it's very relaxing.I’m curious, what are the smoking qualities of a church warden vice a conventional style pipe?
The idea of propping up on my porch or out in the woods with a big ol’ church warden pipe is sounding pretty good.
