PAA makes this one that I have never tried.
I would assume it’s not like walking into a wall in humidor where you smell the pure tobacco.

If you are looking for a pure raw tobacco smell of walking into a humidor I will revisit my selections. I have one that pretty similar to that. I think it’s a Mugler, but will have to check.

That’s one I have, and IMO is striking the general Danish aromatic accord, not raw leaf. IMG_1323.jpeg

Got it. Never tried it.
I’m thinking the “uncle John’s” (pipe smoke) isn’t a walking into a humidor cigar smoke, but it’s good. Wish I had another bottle so I could revisit the notes.

Later today or tomorrow I am going to try and sort through 200+ colognes and see which one smelled close to a humidor. It may even be a discontinued PAA blend.

Tried the Taylor of old bond street tobacco?

No I’ve not tried Taylor OOBS. I note that they offer 18 tobacco scented products. Darn you. Good thing I am made of money…🙂

Let us know if you dig through the collection and find a winner. If I was a well off man I could easily enjoy a collection of hundreds of colognes…I’d have a museum. I’ve never counted mine, but including samples and decants I’d recon I’m in the 90 to 120 range. It’s an addiction of sorts.

Yeah sometimes I don’t know if I’m taking too much Adderall or I need to take more Adderall.

Question for the crowd: Do you open up your razor and remove the blade and dry everything after each shave? I have been just flicking off the water and padding it dry but not taking out the blade. I’m unsure if that is sufficient.

I disassemble and rinse each part. I dry the top and bottom piece but only pat dry the blade. I leave it fully disassembled until completely dried. For the record, my current razor is a 3 piece razor.

Thanks I guess I’ll do that going forward. It’s not much more effort

I remember the days where I needed thinning scissors. Now if anyone knows where I can find ones that thicken please reach out 🙂

I never have. You can, won’t hurt anything. After a while that razor blade can rust!!! Then you would have issues. Don’t shave with a rusty blade or you will have a bad time.

Here is a tip. For those that like the 2nd and 3rd blade use better than the first use.
Get an old pair of blue jeans you don’t want anymore. Take the new blade and put it into your razor. On each side, run the razor down the pants leg once or twice. It smooths the blade ever so slightly it will give you the 2nd and 3rd blade feel.

Make sure to rinse the blade after running it on the denim pants.

I figured at worst the low maintenance approach might get me like one less shave out of the blade. I’m more worried about moisture harbored internally and it ruining the finish over time. I guess that may depend on what metal my razor is constructed of.

Others cork their blade for the same effect. It is what it sounds like, slicing a cork once or twice. I’m not there yet personally

Denim pants is easier and safer to me. I don’t want to handle the razor blade through a cork and possible cut myself.

You know those can be bought state side?

I just bought some snuff from EU and had to pay in an exchange rate. Wasn’t fun…. Now I’m hoping I get to see my package in about a month if customs doesn’t take it home with them….

No I did not, but oh well. But on that note, the Floid website oddly wouldn’t sell me their products. Do those need to be bought from a distributor? If so, who is your go to?

Amazon

Razor emporium

Lots of good sites. Just Google them.

Now actual floid blue is discontinued. You can get the clones but even they are being discontinued.
