Yesterday I got in a Westchester stamped Dublin in a nice Marxman box.
The seller had a lots, well over a hundred, new old stock small General Motors parts still in boxes for sale, mostly hood ornaments and trim pieces. He said he inherited the stuff.
The pipe was almost new, as was the box. It looked like it had been there for a long time.
Was Westchester a Marxman sub brand or is this another brand of pipe in a Marxman box?
Not that it really matters much, but I’m curious, you know?
The pipe has sort of a machine made look the average Marxman I own doesn’t show. But on the other hand the stem looks very Marxy and the carvings do as well. But the pipe was deeply stained red, and most Marxman pipes are uglier than this.
It smokes excellently, like it could be Algerian briar.
Any guess as to the maker?
