People I work with who live in Vegas are reporting it to be pretty widely open, so -- with all the caveats and unforeseens required -- I think it is a good bet the show will happen, and I'm hoping to make it.
Never been to a pipe show. If it happens and I'm near, I'll probably go.

That will save questions in the future as to where you live when you later mention local stores, weather, tobacco prices, availability, regulations, location of photos, wildfires, air quality, etc. In many instances that saves time for those who read your posts.

Under your avatar, (top right, left most of three symbols) you choose "Account Details", which brings up "My Account". "My Location" is halfway down. Whatever you're comfortable with- town, city, county, state. Just country if you must.
Such a bummer as I have family a bit east of Charlotte so it's extra reasons to get down there. I occasionally check and continue to see no updates sadly. I guess they haven't even had their monthly meetings at all kick back up?
Definitely hoping this happens as well. The organizer's website makes it all sound very tentative, and still sounds as if it's hinging on capacity and mask mandates, which are a thing of the past here.

Cancelled per the web site. I am super disappointed and don’t feel like this was necessary.

Concerning the 2021, 13th Annual West Coast Pipe Show; This has been an extremely difficult decision for Marty and I both but we need to do what we think is best for everyone concerned. We are cancelling the show for this year. Flying across the country with a face mask on and worrying about who has been Vaxed and who hasn’t, is a real concern. We will not be part of the Vax police worrying about who has been Vaxed and if they have not been , they need to wear a mask. We also feel that there are too many unresolved issues for us to be confident that a show can be conducted without fear of changes in regulations and requests. Our show is about having a great time together and enjoying our great hobby. We do not want hard feelings at our show.
I am getting dates for a show next year. I will put the dates on the web site as soon as I have them.

Suppose the show is on and a good crowd shows up, and the show shows every sign of success. Then some authority shows up with an unlivable health regulation. I can't imagine the disappointment and anger.

Absent a dramatic change in public health that’s not going to happen. Vegas is open for business. The tobacco industry alone had two major trade shows there in the last few months.
I couldn’t agree more. Large swathes of the US have returned to something very close to normal and vaccination has been the key. I’m in NJ, one of the more hard-hit and locked down States, and here the only places still requiring masks are transit and healthcare facilities.
Cancelled?? Everything is open here in Vegas. Something smells fishy.
Like I said. Extreme overreaction. I just got back from Disneyland where 10s of thousands of people are standing in lines next to complete strangers maskless. No one was policing anyone.
I did have to wear a mask in the airport, on the plane, and in the Uber but that was it. Frankly, it boggles my mind that this level of masking up is enough to prevent a pipe show.

BTW, Garth Brooks sold out a 65,000 seat stadium in Las Vegas tonight. Are you telling me more than 65,000 people are attending the WCPS? No, so what’s the real story?
Marty and Steve are on the hook for paying for the show. If something goes wrong, it's their necks. With all the uncertainty I think they made a prudent decision. I'm disappointed, but not surprised.
If it was a money decision there may be those who are disgruntled, but I don't think anyone should be surprised.
It is established that there is a wide margin of safety of health, but that is only a fact. What matters is the perception of that fact, which is easily manipulated by emotion. It is not the case that CDC stated a year ago that you have the all clear. Everyone can go outside and play. Hell, they haven't even said that yet. Until they do I don't believe that the issue will be settled in our minds. Vaccination has helped establish an even playing field, but that is only in the last few months.
We're coming out of the woods, but we are not yet out. The show could go on healthily. That's the fact. But we have to give perception and the emotion in it time to catch up.
