Sounds like you've found a good way to ride out the storm.
I'm optimistic about the "general state of our economy" as it is. I think it will improve soon, we Americans usually figure a way out of these things.

Wow, that sucks. The Machine, once started, is really only concerned with churning profit, sadly. I wish you guys all the best, may a fair wind of fortune blow your way.

Sold our last home and moved 1600 miles to get jobs , Damn near went bankrupt . Our life is better now . The wife is getting laid off on the 16th of this month . Lucky we cut up all the credit cards years ago . In retrospect we should have declared chap 13 . Everyone got thier damn money in the end .The problem people face now are low wages as the employers can pick and choose . And they know you will bite . I wish you all the luck in the world . I feel it is a shame when hard working people can not make a living in this country .

Shit Cyndi, I really, really feel for you guys having to face this horrific BS.
You stay strong girl, and don't give the bastards an inch, or they'll take a mile. My only hope is that the AH's that caused the western world to crash will get theirs ..... long, slow and very freakin' painful!!!

My daughter was able to sell her house through a government subsidized short sale, and she lived in Smyrna, GA. She broke even, at least, but they were sinking fast. Good luck!

Cyndi and Shaun:
Very sorry to hear about your situation. I will be praying for you and your family and will put your names on our church prayer line. My Church, "Cornerstone Fellowship" in Dacula GA has a ministry set up to help folks going through some hard times. Let me know how we could bless you. Shaun has my email address.

Sorry to hear the bad news, Cyndi.
This forum has become a second family to me and to say the least, you and Shaun are among those I have developed a deep fondness for. So, for whatever it is worth, you have someone here in the northwest who cares for you and who hurts when you hurt.
I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Stay strong. God is in control and things have a way of working out.

Thanks everyone! I'll take prayers, good wishes, candle lighting and every positive thing you can think of. I believe positive energy crosses all religions and affects our lives.
Right now we're focusing on the move but I'd love to talk to a lawyer (someone on MY side for once) about the wisest thing to do with our house. The system is not set up to protect homeowners - its set up to protect the banks. I have smoked so many bowls lately to help with the stress.
One thing I can't wait for - there is a HUGE garden tub over there and I can't wait to be in it with a glass of wine. I'm also going to have a make-up vanity for the first time in my life! There's a hip hop song that says "I'm coming home" that was playing when we drove over to look at it. Maybe sentimentality, maybe coincidence... But that's how it feels.
We set up my daughter's bed yesterday and I hung up my Austrian china and it's starting to look like... Home.

Thanks everyone! Like Cyndi said, we'll take all the thoughts, prayers, etc. we can get at this point. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we're trying to make sure we have a little of fun as well, which is one reason why I posted the first meeting of the pipe club.
While all of this sucks, we're trying to keep optimistic in what we're gaining in the process.

Cyndi: I know an attorney who I believe specializes in the area of law you are in need of. He used to go to my church. His wife still attends and is part of the same over 50's group my wife and I attend. I will ask her for his information and pass it on to you and Shaun.

Peter - you said you go to Cornerstone in Dacula? Do you know Nicole and Kristian Robben? Nicole is Shaun's cousin and that's where his Aunt Debbie got married.

Don't know them. Do you know how long ago they attended and when Shaun's Aunt got married? Joan and I have been going there for about three years. Most of the folks we know are in our age bracket (over 50) or in our small group. I will inquire.
