Horror is my favorite genre of movies. I love the classics like The Exorcist, Jaws, anything Hitchcock, The Omen, The Shinning, Halloween....and most B horror movies.
Newer horror doesn't have the same feel as 1960-1980 film gives off.
One that's not so new, but pretty good was "Barbarian".
Its got a bit of Hitchcockian twists, with great acting.
Richard Brake is the new Lance Hendrickson.
If you do watch Barbarian, do NOT watch any trailers or read anything about it, it will ruin it. Just knowing its horror kinda ruins it. You gotta see it to understand.

So few horror movies have anything new these days. Barbarian was different, with some new plot twists.
Yeah, I thought same. beginning sequence was really sudden and jolting. And I always seem to like movies with that kid from jeepers creepers/dodgeball ahahaha
I remember watching Zach Cregger in The Whitest Kids U’Know, it is so unimaginably crazy to me that the man is now putting out some of the best horror films, maybe some of the best films period, of the past couple decades. What a talent. Him and Jordan Peele, it’s nuts that these comedy guys can turn around and scare me so thoroughly.

I just watched this one. I used to see the box art as a kid in the movie store. I have to say, it was hard to follow. Does it strike a nostalgic chord for ya or you like the tall man?
My favorite part is where he picks up the coffin throws it in the hearse ahahah.
Don Coscarelli, the Director, did a masterful job with this, the first movie in the series. He makes you ponder whether Mike is deluded by grief into a fantasy involving the death of his parents, and the subsequent involvement of The Tall Man, or if he and his brother, Jody, are experiencing a terrifying reality.
The playing off of these two possibilities makes the storyline somewhat dreamlike (or nightmarish) and, hence, possibly hard to follow. Mr. Coscarelli leaves it to the viewer to determine which possibility is correct.
Johnny Depp in the first "A Nightmare On Elm Street", and Jennifer Aniston in the first "Leprechaun" are probably the most famous.
