I was awake during my last one. Watching everything on a flat screen tv. Asking the doctor questions about what I was seeing. Doctor commented "Nice job on the prep work." He said you'd be surprised how many people come in there without following the directions and completing the entire preparation program.

It sure is a relief to get that "all is well" diagnosis.

I had a colonoscopy this year as well. The only thing I hated was the stupid nurse trying to insert a needle the size of a drain pipe into my vein. A very nice Chinese girl came along and put a smaller needle into my hand and that was it! It would seem I am thankfully a smooth bore as they found nothing growing in me at all. I too asked the Doctor what he has doing on Thursday night and whether he wanted to catch a movie and dinner. My guess is he has heard every variation of that joke before over the years.
