No I did not buy a McClelland or Esoterica tin. My first colonoscopy!

I was pretty nervous going in but I have to agree with literally everyone else that has had one, super easy and it could save your life. I am 49 and decided to go in a year earlier then recommended as my father and brother had polyps removed during their procedures. For me the prep was not that bad, it was the hunger part that was the most annoying. I ended up going 42 hours without food and towards the end our smallest dog was looking like a Kielbasa.

I was conscious the whole time and was (pardon the pun) in and out in 75 minutes. Detected early you have a great chance of surviving colon cancer, caught late you are not facing great odds. I was clear so 10 years until my next one.

So don’t put it off!

I guess drinking slime and then getting a GoPro in the butt isn't so bad if it can save your life! I have a few years before I go in for mine but I agree with you as far as going in early! (pun intended)

Glad to hear you are doing well on that end (pun not intended).

Had one years ago. Terrible experience. Not looking forward to another one, and with a hernia repair I'd rather not have one even if it were prescribed. Nobody's getting past the end line that was traced aeons ago, anyway.

I had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy together the same day about 9 years ago. I'm due again next year. No worries...it was a breeze.

I've had two colonoscopies and no problems with either. Definitely worth getting it done.

Congrats on the "clean" bill of health. :)

As for colonoscopies, I'm pretty sure that Suprep is the devil's work. The only thing that stood out after the procedure was Huddle House.

As for prostate exams, one year my regular doctor took a vacation and my yearly exam was performed by a blonde female intern.

It took on a whole, new meaning.

You always want to be awake for your colonoscopy procedure to make sure the doctor never puts both hands on your shoulders.

But in all seriousness, it was the worst and most painful procedure I’ve had... they didn’t give me enough drugs!

I don’t even know what this “verses” stuff is but I know I didn’t get it. They gave me some Valium and some synthetic opiate but I didn’t get enough of either, it really was painful. I was only about 14 when I had it.

Had my first @ 50 and my second @ 65 this year. They removed 5 polyps and told me I'd have to have another in 1 year. Didn't like the prep but it wasn't too bad. Was given the same drug that MJ overdosed on so didn't recall a thing soon after it went into the IV.
