Though not a codger blend itself, G.H. Dark Birds Eye is my new favorite. I have been smoking it for about a month while rotating through all of my other blends and it has consistently been the only blend I have been wanting to smoke since. I just bough two 500g bags of it for cellaring... I genuinely this this might be my one and only blend I smoke from here on out. Flavor, burn rate, consistency, temperature, everything is just perfect.

I’m think I’ll never find one. I come close, many times (DBE was one).
I’ve got quite a few I can smoke daily, but I don’t think an “a day, every day” would even be something I’d be interested in-it would kind of defeat the purpose (for me) as I’ve already got an “all day, every day” nicotine supply.

I've thought I found the one several times, only to find out pipe tobacco doesn't really work that way.
Found my one a few years ago. Wish it was still available but luckily I bought many pounds while it was still around.
I’d like to send you some of my homegrown orientals, but I fear one bowl sized sample for your pipes would be my entire harvest
I like Dark Birdseye very much, but I suspect that the average codger would take one puff of it and say, "What the hell is THIS!!??
Oh absolutely, its by no means a codger blend like Half&Half, Carter Hall, SWR, etc. but a codger blend in the sense that I can smoke this and nothing else for the rest of my days!
Out of the codger blends, I really like PA for being soft and fluffy.
Out of permanent blends, I would pick Standard Mixture I think because it's fluffy and not stinky. But it's much more pricey than PA, which makes it harder to make as an everyday blend.
