So far I have been using vulcanite, AKA pre-formed stems. I finally gathered my courage and attempted a hand made one out of Black Japanese ebonite and decided to share it with you folks. I'm using it on a straight poker. The stem isn't great I realize but I just wanted to let you see it. I'm working to the guideline that practice makes perfect or at least helps us improve. :?
The umm, bump on the bottom of the shank at the bowl interface is intentional. It's supposed to look like a tree branch where it connects to the trunk. I think it looks like a bump. :crazy:
