Welcome. New Orleans has pretty cool French cultural heritage. Just today I put French New Orleans Chicory coffee in my espresso machine and the grind level made it work great- very creamy.

Chicory is indeed a delight!
I had it again this morning.
I got a DeLonghi espresso maker for ~$55 6 years ago and it's still working. But it seems like some normal-grain sized Espresso doesn't work in the baskets nowadays. Maybe the baskets are alittle clogged from years of use. But ironically putting "Du Monde" New Orleans Chicory Drip Machine coffee in the Espresso machine works great instead of being all watery and thin. It gets a creamy top and a bit bitter chicory nut taste mixed in with the coffee. The more I talk about it, the more I feel like making myself another cup!!!

I tried another Chicory coffee about 4 years ago out of curiosity. It has a flavor that reminds me a little bit of wood or nuts. I like it, and find it nice for the sake of variety. I can't recall the name, and I'm guessing I got it at a regular grocery store. It may have been one of the freeze-dried "bricks" of coffee that grocery stores stack. But I remember that it was better with milk. I probably made it using the "Moka Pot".

Sometime I want to make sweet Vietnamese-style metal-filter coffee. They often use those French-style coffee varieties, like from those kinds of cans. Their cuisine is influenced by French cooking due to their colonial period.
