There are still qualifying matches to be played leading up to the next WC. It's not like they only get the band back together the month of the WC.

I would trade the enthusiasm and commitment of the USA team and excitement at getting to the last 16 for the apathy and sheer hurt (yet again) in England. I don't think you can overestimate how well your team did - in a very minority sport in the USA - to get to that stage in a competition entered by every country in the World that plays soccer. Which is pretty much every country in the World. Kudos!
