Good morning from "firecrest" I am a new member as from today. I have been smoking a pipe for the last 42 years and smoke Ennerdale Flake. I have a question for your older smokers - as myself - can anyone recommend a flake tobacco to replace "Weaver Brand Flake" This was a tobacco I smoked in the 80s early 90s until it was discontinued. It was a sweet yet medium strong smoke with a distinctive aroma. It was produced by Lambert and Butler. I believe it was discontinued due to its South African connections! I use GQ TOBACCOS mail service, which I find first hand. Due to the time lap they can not recommend a replacement - not surprised after 40 odd years!

Welcome and no clue, lol. Maybe explore some GL Pease? Bankside is good but has a little Perique. Not sure if it’s the Latakia you are most interested in or the richer Virginia. Others will surely have had experience with your favorite.

Weaver??
There’s a blast from the past!
I’d go for Samuel Gawith’s Chocolate Flake or Bobs Chocolate Flake from Gawith Hoggarth’s. They’d be your best, if not closest, alternatives.
Other than those, slowly work your way through sampling all the dark flakes from Gawith’s, Gawith Hoggarth’s & Germain’s.
Welcome to the forum.👍

I got nothing for you. It is rare to have this community stumped. Someone will have a solution I am sure. You may want to be more detailed in why you like this blend so that we can make some solid recommendations.

Welcome to the forum. I ain’t gonna be able to help you on the tobacco suggestion front considering I was either an egg or infant when that stuff was discontinued. 😂
