I have taken the skull hiking at Natural Bridge. Me and three others did the Appalachian Trail back in '94. Started in March and were on it until late October. Though I had a Grabow with me, we mainly picked up cigarettes and chew when we'd pass through a town.
All it takes is an industrial chemical explosion and giving up an eye!
Had to be a hell of thing to go through...thank God it didn't get both eyes.
7 months, did a lot of off trail exploring.

When i did my first SHIT (so happy it’s Thursday) herf in San Diego (a weekly herf i did for 12 years) it was a tight group and could go from “how’s life” to just brutal in seconds. The motto was “if someone can take time out of their busy day to give you shit it means they care, when they stop giving you shit it’s time to worry”.
Did it just because it was there, typical 20 year old thinking. If I tried it now it would kill me.
