Someone had arms wrapped around your loved one.

It appears the justice system on Wisconsin is totally broken down with little to no regard given to public safety. I doubt the breakdown is party oriented, it's all about operating as cheaply as possible, putting up a facade of public safety and hoping for the best. The times we live in are amazing!

Again, thanks be for your daughter's survival.

There is actually very little crime in the vast majority of WI, nor a justice system issue. It’s a sparsely populated state . My town just had same type of Christmas parade on Main Street , my children loved it . Just a maladjusted human making bad choice after bad choice.

Hardly! He is continuously allowed to commit crimes and walk away. Judges don't seem to care when he ignores their orders. And, a child is no longer innocent. She'll spend the rest of her life with the memory and live with the fears. You may excuse him and his "choices" but, I bet not many can.

The justice system, I use the term system loosely, should have had this guy off the street years ago. Too many failures in yours system. Ignore the signs at your and your family's peril. I have family in WI. Yes it's a nice place to live, by and large, but, it's getting away from the citizens. Control has passed to the self-serving. But, I have no complaint with your lack of concern. Your choice. But, there's a reason my cousin, WI near the IL border keeps her shotgun handy as local law enforcement is few and far between.

Only three States have the death penalty to help to stop this uptick in extreme violence. “hang um high” !

Hardly an argument in a country where arrests, bail and trial are heading for extinction. If you're not arresting, then trying the culprits, what good is the death penalty? I do agree that the recidivism rate is extremely low among among the those executed by the State.

My 9 year old daughter Lydia is a baton twirler. A hard to come by sport in my area.

It's her favorite thing to do, and she is fantastic at it.

Tonight she was performing in the Waukesha Christmas parade.

A half hour into standing in the bitter cold, we notice there's a long LONG gap in the parade. All of a sudden we see one of the police officers running down the street, yelling at us to get out of the road and to the other side of the library.

In front of a swarm of panicked citizens, me and the wife head the other direction. We knew something wasn't right. She called my daughter's dance coach and no response. A minute later she receives a call from one of the dance moms, saying that the girls are sheltering in place in a near by church. Everyone was okay, but the lady handed the phone to my daughter and she was hysterical.

We made it to the church, and Lydia told us that the vehicle sped past the group of girls twirling on the street, and was within feet of them. The SUV plowed into the dance group ahead of my daughter's. The dance group, similar to my daughter's ranged from 9 to 15 years old.

I'm extremely thankful that Lydia and the whole group came out without a scratch. It was so hard to stay calm, and brave for her, but I've never been so scared in my life. Not everyone was so lucky tonight. My heart goes out to those families affected by this tragedy. It is a dark day in Wisconsin.

Hold your loved ones close.
I will. And I bet you will every day from now on! Unbelievable

You have a beautiful family, and prayers sent from me..........
It pisses me off that we have so much evil in this world- little kids don't need this....
Plenty of hugs and love will get them through- I raised 3 daughters, It'll be alright...

Thank goodness your daughter is safe now.

My wife is a school psychologist (PhD - Loyola Univ. Chicago). She works with victims (school children) of exposure to violent trauma.

My wife states it is important to consult with a competent professional. Check the “professional’s” credentials. Someone who isn’t highly trained and skilled can do more harm than good.

Bless those who have been through this unimaginable ordeal. ?

Wife just sent me a video clip of their performance, that a mom shot during the parade, that shows the truck driving passed the girls..... And my daughter's coach today said my daughter was the closest to that asshole.

Unbelievable.

If I feel this way, I can't even imagine how those poor families feel....
