I as pulling your collective leg before, I admit it. I really zip tie all my pipes to the windshield wipers of my car and get the wax treatment. They come out great! I kinda like the bubbles- remind me of when I was a kid.
If you just water flush after every smoke, I think you'd find you could forego the additional steps and efforts. But whatever works best for you.
Easier to tape them to the hood (bonnet) of your car and go through a car wash....gets rid of more schmutz!I as pulling your collective leg before, I admit it. Certainly more practical than the toilet flush method BROBS was advocating.
Pipe swirlies?Just hold the pipe down in the water, and hit the handle.. Good as new.
I never tried one but I've read they smoked harsh. They look sort of cool though.
You guys have convinced me of this method. Hot tap water, shank brush and tooth in the bowl.
Only caveat is that stain ran off on a couple of smooth Stanwells.
I always wondered why companies use alcohol based stains to begin with. They have oil-based stains ?Haven't run into that with water but definitely with alcohol. I screwed up an old estate Color Duke while sanitizing it before I noticed I was stripping the paint right off.
I flush my meers with very hot tap water but generally don't need detergent. And I won't use soap, so 19th C.Can you use this method on a meershaum? I have an estate with a shank that could use a good soap brushing.
Got ya. Sorry, I meant detergent, but everything that has bubbles is soap in my mind.I flush my meers with very hot tap water but generally don't need detergent. And I won't use soap, so 19th C.
