Thanks for the info, Russ. That's what I'm looking forward to next... especially now that I finally got some War Horse coming my way. I upgraded my shipping cause I can't hardly stand the wait!

Got mine in today. I will be taking the red and green to my local pipe night this evening. Several new pipe smokers in the group. Not sure if I should suggest they try these, but I will make them available!

Grabbed 10 tins of the Red and that completes my purchases of commercially produced tobacco! :puffy:

Completes your purchases? I don't understand. What does that mean?
Many here won't understand that statement as it defies TAD.
I've completed my cellar, as far as tinned and bulk blends, and will only be purchasing whole leaf to make my own products now.
This year is also my first year growing my own and I'll be expanding that this coming season.

Those of you who have now tried the War Horse Green how does it compare to Condor? I know they're not the same and it will never replace Condor in my rotation but does it remind you of Condor? Good amount of nicotine? Everything you hoped i'd be and more?

OK, trying to absorb the info, sift the gold from the dross, but I'm not getting there. Help me out with possibly dumb questions:
.1 Are these aros? (By that I mean, are they cased? Are they topped?)
2. It appears from what I've seen the blend is burley, Ky and Va. Correct?
3. What are the differences between Red and Green tin?
4. War Horse of old was famous for a nic kick like its name sake. Same now?
Thanks.

OK, hawky & tslex, I think most would put the Bar and Green in the light aromatic category and both are burley based blends with some Virginias in them. The difference between them is the flavors. The Bar (or Red) is as close to the original as we could get while the Green does have a hint of Lakeland character it is not anywhere near what you'd experience with true Lakelands.

As for a nic hit, it is definitely there but not like a sledgehammer. Both blends will lull you into a contemplative state.

When Russ O. and I first smoked both of these it was before lunch and we could feel the hit and both of us are accustomed to smoking some very strong pipe tobacco and cigars.
