I received a gift sample of War Horse about 2 years ago in a baggie and I may have tried it but forgot and it has sat in my cellar box. I just pulled it out and wow it was delicious, but I now do not know if it was Red or Green? I guess I will need to buy both. That said my pallet tends to enjoy sweeter blends so I am curious if anyone out there knows if Red or Green is sweeter?

I'm a fan of War Horse. I tend to smoke more of the Green than the Red. The Red, in my opinion, is stronger and less aromatic than the Green. The Green is a bit reminiscent of the Irish made Condor which is now long gone.
I read the title and thought "oh, a new War Horse blend, Red, Green and now Dilemma".
I like Warhorse, though I rarely smoke it. The heliotrope gives it a unique flavor. My stash dates from 2016, and I have one of the first ten tins ever produced, hand mixed by Russ, to beat the FDA.s deeming deadline.
The Red and Green are very distinct from one another but of a similar general theme. Both good, but I’ve only got original run Warhorse so I cant speak to what it’s like today.
The W.H. Green tastes like you are smoking a glass of Anisette and was meant to resemble Condor but somehow came out differently then expected, you have to think along the lines of how Dr. Kellogg made the discovery of corn flakes. In my opinion it was caused by the Oompa Loompa's at the C.I mixing department suffering from a hideous hangover that begot us W.H Green. The red is easy to spot, or at least used to be due to the Rose Geranium and the extract of Valerian root used in the topping. How they make it today I have no idea but when they made it for SToP we did supply them with the original components that were deduced from having a 1930/40s plug put through mass spectrography and analyzed by an Israeli laboratory. If you ask @woodsroad he will happily tell you the whole story and I believe he was interviewed several times. Without him there would have been no W.H, Bengal Slices, John Cottons to name quite a few.
Sadly the components of these blends have been messed with so much since the 2015 launch I have no idea what goes into the stuff today. At the time of the launch you also had W.H - R.R or what we used to call War Horse Rub Your Own which I was never a great fan off but Joe Q Lunch Box seemed to love the stuff. We also had a prototype W.H Bar that C.I never went with, instead going with the 'Blug' that is still the current format. The prototype bar was very good and looked a lot like a Revor Plug which was sadly vetoed by the C.I people for reasons unknown - I believe Dan may have a couple tucked away somewhere. At a tasting I remember a fellow who looked like he had stepped off the set of the Red & Green Show who told me how much he had enjoyed the prototype by eating it! I couldn't quite understand why we had produced the world's first nicotine Twinky bar but it takes all sorts to run a world! 
After more research I think I was given War Horse Bar (Red). It was a piece of crumble cake so I know it was not rub. It had also dried out a bit and that might have reduced the topping flavor as I do not recall a floral presence. Thus I will buy Red Bar first because I have learned the Green has a lot more topping.
I only ever smoked Green, a hard smoke and left a considerable ghost in that pipe that did not like to come out easily.
Although I enjoyed Green a few times I wholeheartedly agree - and after that I found that it was an overly saturated and 'ruined' lump of wonderful tobacco

Such a shame but I dumped the entire cake
