Tapered arbor wheels can go from 5/8" to 1/2" and you must make sure that you order a left or right thread.

I've had moderate luck using BELT GRIP spray on the inside of the felt wheel hole. It's a product used to prevent fan belt slippage, found under various names at your auto parts stores.
