In regards to SMS Meer's, I own one and would never buy another. Nothing wrong with the meer itself, but the stem is the most God awful thing I have ever put in my mouth. The stem is so freaking rounded that I cannot even clench it just to light the damn thing.
Here is my SMS. It is also so long that I have to use Churchwarden pipe cleaners on it. It is unwieldy as hell and I bought it early on in my pipe smoking so I had no clue what I was doing.
LOL
I don't mean to laugh at your pain,
but this cracked me up!
Thanks, and I appreciate you weighing in on this,
saving me frustration and headaches,
as well as money.
You know your stuff, and I'm gonna listen.
. . . .
How much are they running?
I dunno.
How much are they worth?
Perhaps the most well-made meer of the last few decades at least, more than likely --
I don't know anything about meers, but I know that from what I've read, they ain't exactly gotta rep for being precision instruments in the construction dept.
To have something like Walt has made would be priceless,
I think,
because I think it's safe to say that its gonna be a damn fine smoker,
the attention to detail is beyond the next level.
If I had the money to buy one,
I would in a heartbeat.
As a matter of fact,
the Cannoy meer pipes are probably actually a bargain,
how often are you gonna get an oppo to score such a finely made meer by a fine and well-respected maker?
And, they're probably a value too,
relatively speaking.
Have you priced a Dunhill meer billiard lately?
