I likely won't know until I have the pipe in hand and I accidentally drop some tobacco in the chamber and light it on fire.

The pipe arrived today and it is magnificent! Photos make the pipe appear smaller than it actually is, as it is quite substantial with a bowl a bit larger than a Savinelli 320 and longer in length. The chamber is a bit narrower though, making for some quite thick walls. When I first held it in my hands my first thought was to load it up with a Balkan blend, but something about the pipe (although not a churchwarden) made me think of Gandalf haha! I guess I could see Gandalf enjoying a pipe similar to this one. So it was going to be a Middle Earth blend. After eyeing Old Toby and Rivendell for a few moments, I chose Rivendell for this pipes first smoke. And it's smoking it wonderfully right now. Wow... just wow. This thing is smoking effortlessly! I'm about 3/4 through this bowl on three lights. I couldn't be more pleased. I will definitely be purchasing another in the future. I do wish Walt Cannoy took commissions. because it would be fun to have another one like this made up but with a black stem. It would make a great set.
