Just finished my third pipe rack. Made it out of walnut wood this time and finished it with some boiled linseed oil to bring out the richness of the wood.

Thanks fellas! I really enjoy working with walnut and the linseed oil brought out the colors better than I could have imagined. It's amazing what a simple finish can do for wood. I think it's time to start buying my pine and making more of these. Think I'm going to try and have a bunch of racks built and tampers made for the April TAPS Expo in Raleigh this year.
Nice work! Looks like you like countersinking.
I do. I have never really liked seeing the heads of screws and a lot of the time, where the screw enters the board can look pretty messed up, so I like keeping all that hidden down inside the board. I use screws with a smooth shaft for a short length below the head and you have to get the threads into the board you're screwing into. If any threads exist inside the top board, it can be difficult to pull the two tight. Plus, I just like the look of the contrasting dowels.
Beautiful work, warden. But I would change the handle. I think antler would look awesome.
You know, I've considered it, but I haven't found a store yet to buy something from. I like to shop for my stuff in person and touch it with my hands. Just never felt comfortable buying a lot of things online that I couldn't touch to see how it feels.

Nice looking work, Church. Good to see you have a fall back talent for when you leave the rat race. I find projects like this really calm my restlessness but I don't have your skills!
