Just finished my third pipe rack. Made it out of walnut wood this time and finished it with some boiled linseed oil to bring out the richness of the wood.
I do. I have never really liked seeing the heads of screws and a lot of the time, where the screw enters the board can look pretty messed up, so I like keeping all that hidden down inside the board. I use screws with a smooth shaft for a short length below the head and you have to get the threads into the board you're screwing into. If any threads exist inside the top board, it can be difficult to pull the two tight. Plus, I just like the look of the contrasting dowels.Nice work! Looks like you like countersinking.
You know, I've considered it, but I haven't found a store yet to buy something from. I like to shop for my stuff in person and touch it with my hands. Just never felt comfortable buying a lot of things online that I couldn't touch to see how it feels.Beautiful work, warden. But I would change the handle. I think antler would look awesome.
