It is certainly not from that era. But yes, the shape looks similar. It looks similar to the 188 from the Larsen line of the 2000s.View attachment 346252View attachment 346253
I was not aware, thank you! There is a “Show Us Your Danish Pipe Thread” for your edification.
And to show off your Dane
The first era was early 60's through the early 70's.When was 1st Era? The box doesn’t look that old.
I could make out the description of the oval shank, saddle stem, but I’ll be darned if I know what the “Dickwandiger” head isIt looks similar to the 188 from the Larsen line of the 2000s.View attachment 346252View attachment 346253
Dickwandiger sounds like an instrument a urologist might useI could make out the description of the oval shank, saddle stem, but I’ll be darned if I know what the “Dickwandiger” head is
@evanmdetwiler’s looks to be a round shank however, even if it’s a “cognac” bowl.
If you see the chart they call it billiard CanadianDickwandiger sounds like an instrument a urologist might use
That shape is a bit difficult to classify - definitely NOT a billiard.
The sides are too straight to qualify as an egg, and too tall for a brandy.
It‘s more of a champagne tulip or a narrow white wine glass shape.
Thank you for this! The stampings on this pipe I bought seem to fit the bill for it being a "First Era". I actually think it might be closer to the No. 60 shown on page 24. Also mine is stamped "Super Grain" which only seems to be given in the "First Era"."LARSEN COPENHAGEN" is the stamping from Larsen pipe shops 'first era'. These pipes were made primarily in the 1960s, perhaps into the very early 1970s. Here are the 1960 and 1963 WO Larsen catalogues, respectively (below). I do not have a lot of time to peruse them for you, as @Ahi Ka and family are here visiting. I did see model 83 (pg 12 of the '63 catalogue) that looks in the ballpark, sans a saddle bit stem. Cheers!

P.S. The real WO Larsen expert (not me) is @dmcmtk, but he has been away from the forum for a number of years. He is the reason I know anything about the subject. I am an avid collector though...
Though a direct translation to English doesn't make much sense, I've seen the term "Dickwandiger" used to describe various types of "pipe bowl" or "pipe chamber"- including those of a hookah and of glass water pipes. Ahem.I could make out the description of the oval shank, saddle stem, but I’ll be darned if I know what the “Dickwandiger” head is
