Duane, those are gorgeous pipes. I am always afraid while shaping the nose. Better word conservative. My worry about ruining a piece of briar overrides my creative drive.

Looks like there is some Zulu in its DNA, and that slight curve would make it an effortless clencher!

am always afraid while shaping the nose. Better word conservative.
Work slowly, and a vertical belt sander is great for that! Here's some progress pics of the last one I have pictured above.

Thanks for the picture step-by Duane. I think I will actually give that idea a try using my belt sander to give the nose more attitude.
