Oh, so overlooked! The quintessential VaPer, where the Perique is barely perceptible, and the honey-colored Va is soft and gently sweet. LJ Heart Virginia, now on sale for under $6.50 a tin.
The original story by, I think, Russ Ouellette:
Lannes Johnson [made] some of the coolest and driest smoking pipes around, but he's as particular about tobacco as he is about his craftsmanship. When he wanted a Virginia tobacco blend to send as a sample to his pipe customers, he had a certain idea in mind. So we considered it a real challenge to develop this mixture. It had to be sweet, but not too much. It had to have a little tang, but without sharpness or bite, and it needed to smoke coolly. To this end, we combined 3 different types of red Virginia with a whisper of St. James Perique to get your "Heart" started.

Your experience may vary but I'm a big AJ's Vaper fan and my last shipment of tinned AJ has a chemical taste towards the end of the bowl. How that translates to other H&H recent tins, who knows.

+1 McClelland Stave Aged

+1 McCranies Red Ribbon
Also definitely try the following:

McClelland Blakeney Toasted Acadian Ribbon

McClelland Aurora

McClelland Quantum

McClelland 5100 (I like to mix in some straight perique with it)

Thanks for all the suggestions! I will be trying several of these.

Brian - Thanks. I'll send you something in return!

Red Ribbon is one I've had on my radar for a while now. I may start there.
