I picked up this WDC meer at a consignment store this weekend. I’m guessing 1910’s manufacture but if others see it differently feel free to correct me.

it’s in nice shape but needs a good reaming and polishing. I like the slight battle scaring. I cant determine if the stem is amber (doubt it) or plastic of some variety. Any thoughts? It has a bone screw tenon that looks quite narrow. I’m anxious to clean it up and see how she smokes.

Looks like a fine pipe. I like traditional shapes and simplicity with Meerschaum. Be careful with reaming, like delicate. Then warm water and a rough paper towel will likely clean up the chamber.

I would say it is an amber stem. Send it to Briarville and have a good clean up on it. (Then send it to me!) Nice score...

Shim is quick and easy, but there are other more complicated ways that I can only take a stab at, and with that beauty you want hard info.

I was questioning "polishing"- in part because I am not sure what you intend, or how you'd do it.
