now I imaging a person with a slowspeed taking it back and fourth over a bunch of corncob pipes. Then again I would assume burnishing a pipe is way different then a floor. These are all higher grade pipes. The first two are older, they have burnished bowls, a labor-intensive process that was abandoned in the ‘60s, I think. The other three appear to be later (70s-80s?) but they are custom grade.
I’d like to see the label on the first pipe. That is a nice and rare corndog.
Not seeing a model name in red letters, and given the dark burnishing, that pie is older than I thought. (I think.)
The filled and sanded bowls were placed on a spindle and turned while a block of cottonwood was held up against them until the friction generated enough heat to cause the brown coloration.now I imaging a person with a slowspeed taking it back and fourth over a bunch of corncob pipes.
