Well the other thing I noticed is that Mario is jumping directly into a pit, but the kid smiling is as happy as a clam. I know its hard to tell from the picture though.

Yes those are two goombas on the ground too.

Someone mentions the Super Mario/ Duck Hunt cart label in the comments in the link above. To me, it looks like it says "Action Set" on it. Probably a pre-production label, as it doesn't look like the ones I've ever seen before.

Well it is from Canada, so maybe the labelling is different. Also some sad news: The Zapper no longer works with modern televisions. My kids were very disappointed they couldn't play Duck Hunt.

What's on your SMB/DH label? I think the pic on the Action Set boxes & the actual SMB/DH labels were the same across USA/Canada . That cart in the photo was probably a prop or a demo. I googled it & nothing came up, so, who knows? If it's rare & out there, it's worth something.

One difference between the pics is that yours features the updated orange "safety zapper", while the one in the link has the early grey one.

Sega Dreamcast looked so good if you used the S-Video or better yet, the VGA output capabilities of the system. Arcade-perfect ports, & it was a fun system!

Except when it wouldnt read the damned discs!!!!! Mine always fucked up that way. My roommate and I figured out if you started spinning the disc before you closed the lid it somehow helped. Who knows? ?
The LCD display on the controller was way ahead of its time.

The Dreamcast was an amazing system, no doubt Sega's best product ever, and a gem of a system to this day (I have three of them in my closet, my great great great grandchildren will know first hand the joyous calamity that is Crazy Taxi).
Other than Dreamcast I almost completely avoided Sega.
In the early 90's curiosity got the better of me and I asked for a Game Gear on my birthday, 100% regretted the decision. That cemented my fanaticism for Nintendo which lasts to this day (even though I don't have a Switch yet, still waiting for the inevitable third or fifth revisions of that piece of hardware. My launch day Wii U more than makes up for the lack of a Switch though, Nintendo doesn't need my money right now).

There was an anti glare coating on them. A game magazine of the time had an article on it. Cleaning the discs with a 50/50 water and alcohol solution fixed them up.

Soul Reaver and Dead or Alive 2 looked amazing on it. Loved taking care of the Chao creatures from the Sonic game on the memory cards.

They could also play copied discs with no mod chip if I remember correctly.

All this talk has made me want to dig out the Nintendo again and show off these:
