Vintage Colibri of London Lighter Repairs

Is anyone aware of a repair person for a Colibri of London lighter? The current Colibri factory replied that they do not handle any repairs for these lighters. Thanks in advance.

If you check the Dupont thread there are some high end lighter repair shops listed, not sure which lighters they specialize in but it's a place to start.

Sometimes a company will have an extremely popular brand of lighter. A perfect example is the Colibri Company. For many years Colibri made a name for itself selling quality, mid-priced smoking accessories including lighters. Then, almost out of nowhere, the company went out of business and subsequently had the name bought out by another company. When this happened, we purchased every repair part that they had stockpiled since their plan was to not produce lighters anymore. Those parts ran out (a few years ago) and that was the end of Colibri butane lighter repairs. If a high-production company goes out of business, a lot of people are left in the lurch when it comes to repairing their lighters. This has happened with a few companies as the years went on, but none so impactful as Colibri. We have been telling people that we cannot repair Colibri butane lighters for over five years now and we STILL get daily calls about them.

I spoke to the owner of Colibri at the last in-person CIGARfest about the possibility of repairing my limited edition cigar banded lighter from the ’90s. He took a look at it and knew exactly what part was needed, but told me he couldn’t get it anymore.

I’ve been using a Xikar Trezo the last few years, but, it needed fixing and was replaced and even its performance has been a bit dodgy.

I miss my Colibri. I lost it walking to work about 25 years ago. I must have had it in my apron pocket and slung my apron over my shoulder, inadvertently tossing it. I didn’t realize the had gone out of production….too bad, they offered a high end aesthetic that was affordable

I posted there statement on colibri, they dint fix them and either does anyone else, the parts are all long gone.

There must be someone buying broken colibris on ebay for parts and repairing them no? Or maybe the same part breaks on all of them?

Well that repair companies post kind of goes through that, it’s usually the O rings that all need replacing and any old lighter you buy will have the same problems, either way i suppose you could but repair shops won’t do it.

I was told the same thing, but I’m still looking. If I find someone that can do repairs I’ll definitely post it.

I have the same lighter and no butane will even try to go in. Someone on here mentioned O rings.

I saw this on a YouTube post, might try that.

I have a Colibri pipe lighter with a pen clip that looks like a pen in your pocket. Mine's black ... shame they can't be repaired.
