Vintage Butane Lighter Problem

I have to say, this is not the best lighter in the world. The flame adjuster is sketchy at best - I don't even feel confident placing it near my face to light my pipe! Sadly, this lighter is destined to sit in a drawer. I wouldn't even feel comfortable re-selling it.
Oh well, live and learn.

I also have a Vertigo lighter, and the striker wheel mech was indeed a pain in the ass. What I found was the screw that holds the assembly to the lighter would come loose and it would make it hard to get a good spark. What I did was remove that screw, put a drop of super glue on it and screwed it back in snug. This lighter has been working top notch ever since.
