Vinegar/Sour Smell

I was recently given a few pouches of Condor ready rubbed which was probably quite old. I opened the pouches to put into a jar. However, when I opened them, the tobacco had a sort of vinegar smell, far from what I remember Condor to smell like. Could the tobacco still be ok to smoke or could it be ruined altogether?

They're that rarest of species, the McClelland Condor! Seriously though, that's a little weird, but I'd smoke it to see if it's still worthwhile.

Seriously, Vinegar is a common smell for tobaccos that are predominantly made up of Virginias and if I am not mistaken Gallaher's Condor is a straight Virginia. It's a common smell of aging and will not translate during the smoking. At least, that has been my limited experience.

Surely others more experienced than I will chime in and offer more educated input.

That's how 5100 always smelled; I'd smoke it.

it helps clean the pipe. That vinegar scent will kill ghosting. No it's just the way tobacco smells sometimes. Unless it's really strong you won't taste it in the smoke.
