Only breed of frog in Alaska and a favorite food of the Sandhill.
Is this why Frog Morton is discontinued?
Lucky those aren't carolers!View attachment 208964
Boreal Chickadee, not seen in Ohio since the 1960s. It landed in my neighbors yard first, he got a beautiful clear picture, and he reported it being the bird but he is.
He came around and talked to the neighbors and warned us of impending birders descending on our normally quiet peaceful street.
Then, the bird landed on our feeder. We were on our way to dinner, and I got this sneaky shot of about half the crowd. Lots of Amish folks. We let them come up into the yard and have a look, but the bird didn't appear again.
There's another new crowd today. Very surreal seeing a dozen people pace in front of my house with binoculars, spotting scopes, telephoto lenses...but everyone's been very respectful and we've been enjoying it.
My partner has been trying to see one of these for years, we travel up north to their territory all the time, but she's never seen one...until it landed in our yard!
Giving me lots of people to talk to when I go out and smoke my pipe...
Not exactly sure what this is, but as long as we're posting bird pics, maybe someone can tell me!

LOL, took those pics in Mendocino, assumed something more exotic since it was California! Have seen herons in this area from a distance, that guy was the most up close I'd ever been and was struck by how colorful it was.Blue Winged Pterodontys. Much rarer than the Ruby Throated.
I can't do that to you. It's a blue heron.
Great Blue Heron, Ardea herodias. At least that is what it looks like to me. I'm no birder but, I used to see them on the golf course at Rancho Santa Fe.Not exactly sure what this is, but as long as we're posting bird pics, maybe someone can tell me!
I took mine in Mendocino!
That species of bird has eyes in the back of his head.
Is this a Boreal Chickadee also? From my own backyard! Enjoy, he’s gotta be thinking about heading north, soon, I’d think!

I came home from work and there was Larry Bird, stripped to his undies, sitting by my pool, cig in his mouth, holding a can of warm beer. Said things were rough at his house, could he stay for a while until things cooled down.
