Hello, everyone. I'm trying to date a Vauen pipe with a white dot. It has the number 8234 stamped on it. As far as I know, Vauen can only use the white dot within Germany, not outside its borders, due to legal battles with Dunhill in the 1920s. Does anyone have any extra information or know a way to date this pipe? Thank you all and have a great day.

Good day, as far as I know, the numbers stamped on Vauen pipes - in this case, 8234 - refer directly to the pipe itself. Meaning, it's just the numbered configuration (model) of the pipe, that is not unique to this specific product, rather stamped on each of the identical produced pipes, one of which you have.
The white dot might be a clue, but it doesn't ring any bells for me. Perhaps someone else can help more.

EDIT: I just looked it up on the Vauen website (Topas - https://www.vauen.de/pfeifen/detail/collection/topas/aktuelles-sortiment.html) but there's no information regarding the date.
