Varmint Repelling Smoke

Recently, my wife informed me that some varmint, possibly a neighborhood cat, had found a way into my detached garage. Last night, I resolved the gap under the door, to keep it from getting in/out. But how do I encourage it to get out of my shop? 12 gauge is out, possibly compressed air? Instead, I filled my pipe with the smelliest tobacco I have. With the door mostly down, I enjoyed my pipe and changed the atmospher in the garage. By the time I was done, I was alone. Don't ask, it might be your favorite blend.

When my son has guests over that have outstayed their welcome most any heavy Lat blend or 1792 or G&H Dark Flake Scented works well.

When the clock hits around 10PM and the raucous war-gaming or D&D or what have you is still going strong I just take a seat amongst the "boyz", fire up some Barbara Streisand and a bowl and the varmints are gone inside of 20 minutes.

I have been know to start the car close the garage tight and walk away for half an hour. Sure gets rid of raccoons.

Too many tools in the shop to fix a car. I wonder if a lawn mower would have the same effect?

Easy and fun to make on your own! Three parts saltpeter to two parts table sugar melted carefully together and there you have it! Haha me and a friend made some in our younger days. We used a stump remover that was largely KNO3 (potassium nitrate) and after melting it in an old tin can we poured it in to dime tubes. We used those long wet matches as fuses because they had a consistent five second burn time.
Of course if you hurt yourself I take no responsibility for that. One important thing is that they burn very hot so I wouldn't put them near anything you want to keep or anything flammable.

Another varmint problem with the garage. Something is burrowing underneath the concrete. Not even Borkum Riff is bad enough to get through several inches of concrete. Thus, I filled the hole with rock, dug a small trench along the affected area and then covered it with a couple inches of concrete. Nothing can dig through that now. I really hope he was in in his lair, or the garage will be stinky in a couple days.
