For many years, a least since the last real tobacconist closed his doors in Anchorage, I've pretty well stuck to a couple of blends and been quite satisfied. The old "Tobacco Cache" encouraged dipping the bowl into a jar and trying a new blend now and then. Hard to do that with mail-order so I will trust to the members to tweak my interest now and then. After being exposed to this group's assortment of neer-do-wells, reprobates, and other riffraff I has suddenly developed the desire to expand my boundaries.
Besides recently reacquainting my pipes with Prince Albert and a couple other drugstore blends I now have four tins, unopened on my desk to try over the next week or so. The Samuel Gaweth Perfection is opened and I'm on the third bowl. While not as discerning as some of you, it is pleasantly different than 965. A bit less Latakia flavor maybe, but still very nice.
I doubt that I will morph into a tobacco snob but I do want to do a more exploration. I'll not be blaming the site members should I be steered to an insufferable blend.

I still have tons of different blends to try :) I've had a great time trying out the ones I have so far though. I'm still on the quest to finding that one perfect blend I cannot live without... although there is a very good chance that one blend is Hearth and Home Black House. Happy puffing, Warren. I hope you enjoy trying the new blends :)

That sounds like fun Warren, I have tried quite a few drug store blends recently and in my opinion I hate CBG unless you can mix it with something decent, I wouldnt waste your money on it. The CBW was not bad I would buy it again.

I have been two years finding my go to tobaccos. I have settled on 3 blends to not be without. McClelland 5100, Smokers Haven Exotique and MacBaren London Burley. I keep those in stock and if I never get any other tobaccos I would be content, not happy, mind you.

I have several other blends I want/need to try. I try to buy a new to me blend or 3 every order. I may yet find another to add to my must have list, and I have a few blends that I like to keep around as often as possible.

I'm like petes03: lots of different jars in the active rotation. There are a handful of "old reliables",

but nothing I could describe as my signature blend.

I smoke around. Tobacco promiscuity is helping me discern what I do and don't enjoy, and has really opened my eyes to some of my own prejudices. Because of my disdain for flavours and aromas that aren't "authentic" I initially steered clear of aromatics when I returned to pipes. Over the last couple months I've been enjoying some hybrid tobaccos and high quality aros recommended by many of you fine folks.
So I find myself in a similar situation to Petes03 and Cortez. I have about 30 different jars open at the moment, and range from very heavy Latakia forward blends, to straight Virginias, and some delightful aros.
With tobacco, variety truly is the spice of life.

I think variety is good somewhere in life. Currently, tobacco is it for me. So,an English, a Danish, an American. I won't stop plugging McClelland. Best of both worlds there, I think. Try a flake. They offer a change in smoking style as well, especially outside.

I have 28 different flakes in my cellar and usually have around 25 open tins to smoke out of. I love variety and have spent the last year plus loading my cellar with my favorites. If you are looking for a couple of flakes, I would recommend Brigham Klondike Gold and Escudo for branching out.
