Never felt the need to Cellar tobacco until very recently. That being said, I'm now probably going overboard. Not with quantity, but with "branding"

You see, I got tired of trying to put the proper labels on my jars, so I began fiddling about with making my own labels. One is for the lid, and the other(with the blend name and date) will go on the side of the jars.

Am I going too far?

Too far?!? No way, you're setting up your little corner of perfection. You could even use different apes for different families of tobacco. Look at the crazy art project I undertook for modified versions of Three Nuns and Three Friars. Well done!

Ok... an update. I was finally able to make my labels. (ok, I had a friend make them for me) The lid labels are just about perfect. The side labels are too big for 8oz. jars, but good for 16oz. and larger. I'm satisfied. Now to finish the rest of my jars.

EDIT: ignore the horrific dating other Crooner Jar. It's supposed to be March 21, not Feb 31. DAMN!

I have found it quite necessary to have labels on both top and side of jars, as I have some in drawers and others stacked on shelves, so I need to see what’s in the jar from top and side.

As to how detailed you get with design? Knock yourself out! I use painter’s tape and a sharpie.
I use painter's tape and sharpie too. I only have the tops labeled but I'm going to label the sides and bottoms as well now. Thanks!

You are awesome. I just write it on the top in sharpie and I have a listing on the side of the cardboard case what 12 jars are what. Your way is so much cooler!!
