Thanks for posting.

I'm a huge Vincent Van Gogh fan. I named our cat Claude Vincent (Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh).
I don't go to art museums often, but when I do, as soon as I see a pipe a picture is taken.

I haven't been to that museum, but I've been to the the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam that has probably the world's major collection of Van Gogh. It makes a good day or more. Amsterdam is an amazing city besides.

That museum is very good. I have fond memories of visiting there. My favorite painting of the bunch must have been "The Potato Eaters".

Jay,
Here's a hint. This is a pipe forum populated with pipe enthusiasts. Look at the two images and look for what woud be germain to the setting in which they are being shown.
Well when I first looked at the page I just saw four squares with something like "Image Here" written in them....no images at all.

Now I see the images!

Regards,

Jay.

Super small selection of pipe tobacco everywhere. NO lack of cigars however.

I just finished reading this last week.

It is interesting how a 1960's Hollywood movie about Vinnie, got it all wrong, which is where most of our misconceptions about Vinnie came from. The book presented us with a rather unlikable guy, who couldn't keep a job, friends, nor even his own family. He was an extremists about everything. Mooched off of everyone, and argued with everyone. He couldn't even walk down the street without causing problems. He probably would have fit in on this forum though, ha ha. And, I had always thought that he never sold a painting, but that was dead wrong. He was world famous for years before his death, and the guy who shot him since came forward after his death, and even his suicided was wrong.

He admitted that he was the worst figure painter, and he is. But, he had a few paintings that always amazed me. He was a mad genius, but if given the choice, I would much rather set down to talk with Picasso than Vinnie. At least Picasso had charisma, even if he was an asshole too.

Have you ever seen the film The Mystery of Picasso? It has one of the most creative uses of 4:3 and Widescreen proportions I've seen, maybe even better in some ways than Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
