Mcclellands naming conventions are weird.
#2035 is thought to be unaged dark star. Dark star kicks many an ass. Anywho, I’m not sure what this blend has to do with navy flake, which traditionally includes rum.

I also completely forgot to mention the PS Flakes. I'm particularly fond of aged PS Luxury Bullseye Flake and Luxury Twist Flake. Not too fond of their Luxury Navy Flake but I'm hoping the LNF I have will taste better in a couple years just like LBF does.
Oh I've got like a 5 or 6 year old tin of Union Square all swollen that I have yet to pop. I've never tried Union Square so I bought it on a whim. I hope when I do get around to opening it that I like it.

Gentlemen!

Thank you for the info.
I picked up:
Fribourg and Treyer Vintage
McClelland Dark Star
Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake
Wessex Campaign Brigade Dark Flake
I have been reading up on Ratrays and PS tobaccos. I will give them a shot next along with one of the rope blends.

dr, nice pick ups. Let us know what you think after trying some.
cos, I just reread this thread and saw your comment about Astleys no 44 and other european flakes that have a licorice flavor. I find that statement really interesting as I find no licorice flavors on any flakes except for Orlik Dark Strong Kentucky. I definitely don't taste any on the Astleys 44. That flake tastes like molasses or honey at times. Are you dedicating pipes in any certain way? Many of the flakes on my list are of the european persuasion and I taste no licorice and I love the flavor of licorice. I am a black licorice maven and only eat the high end kind with the right amount of salt and the perfect type of chew to them.
