Yep, things are very slow again. Packages are getting held at most major metro distribution facilities. Maryland is routing packages toward PA, away from DC/Baltimore. I mailed a package to a member last week, then a 2nd on Saturday. I drove across the Potomac River to WV and mailed the 2nd. It was delivered yesterday, but the 1st is still in transit (mailed from my MD Post Office). 1st Class or Priority, it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Just checking to see if anyone has had trouble with recent USPS shipping? I've been waiting on a package from @lukasstrifeson (mailed priority from NY on 2/12 and stuck in Memphis since). Hoping they will sort this out in short order.
Wow, surprising it still hasn't gotten to you!

Have you received the first package yet?

USPS has been a mess since November with everything taking 2-3 times longer than normal. Even worse, there is a growing trend of international tobacco orders shipped with tracking that are being either recalled after almost making their destination, or else being stopped at the border, and returned to sender.

Yup things have been taking about twice as long as usual, sometimes a bit longer. Just to confuse me, some packages arrive in just a few days from the exact same locations or from the same areas that have other packages taking weeks. I don’t get it. One hung out there for 2-3 weeks in process while a second purchase from the same vendor made over a week afterwards arrived in a few days and beat the first one to my doorstep by several days, almost a full week. WTF? It’s weird.

My mail service has remained unchanged, even through 2020. The one off problem happens... and I know your situation is real.. but the postal service is, and has been on time and reliable. Over the years the postal service has been the scapegoat for many a past due bill or procrastinated errand. I believe that has caused misconceptions.

With all the foul weather in the Eastern half of the states, it’s been a bottleneck. The USPS does not own their own aircraft. They use Fed-Ex for that, and that mail must go through a main hub. Basically everything east of the Mississippi has had weather delays for the the last 3 weeks. Not an excuse just an explanation, should be back on track by the end of the week

I have a package “In Transit” for 4 weeks now, but my recent CoJ tobacco order arrived early. I expected some delay due to our storms here in Texas, but it certainly seems to be luck of the draw lately.

i have 2 parcels going the other way to Europe.
one was shown as leaving LA international distribution center on 23/1 with no further updates.I am not even sure if that means it has left the US or not.
The other is shown as leaving JFK in New york yesterday and although posted a month later may arrive first

I dont know if packages for Europe are still going by sea, they certainly were last year and taking about 30 days after leaving Europe to arrive in the states

mind you I have a parcel from Germany that left 16/1 and still doesnt show as arriving in Athens Greece so the delays appear to be everywhere

Yep. I ordered this stuff...

20210303_090701.jpg

... from PipeNook on December 11th and it shipped the next day... got here yesterday after sitting in Tallahassee for a couple months. I filed a missing package search and they said it was either lost or damaged after a couple weeks... I figured I'd give it a week and then file my claim. Then it came a couple days later, no update in tracking, no "delivered" notification. I wouldnt believe anybody who claims to have a clue what is going on with USPS.

I've been expanding my home recording studio and have been going out of my way to arrange for UPS to ship my packages with retailers who usually only ships USPS. It's worth the extra money is speed and peace of mind.

Cheers, good luck.
