Thanks guys, I should also say that I have never drilled on a lathe before or made a stem either, this was my first attempt to make a full pipe from scratch. It took me about 40 hours of work. As I do most of the sanding by hand on the pipe, and shaping the stem is mostly done by hand with files and sand paper. I want to say thanks to the guys on here, I have learned a lot from you that helped me in this process. I will in the future make some youtube vids on the stem shaping. There are a few out there, but none that show the whole process especially for acrylic or lucite. Though this site was really helpful http://www.fillenwarthpipes.com/stem1.htm. Thanks Ed for the fine work that you do and big thanks to The Smoking Dragon too. He made the cob for me at a time when he wasn't really taking orders and it turned out just like I asked. I can't wait to make another pipe, but have to say that making my own pipes doesn't cure PAD.
