Thanks,I used a wood carving chisel on it.trying to get a chunkier

look.took a little while to get use to the chisel.

Mike that is a ferrule.i chipped a piece of the briar off and had to

glue it back on.that`s my repair.

As noted above, I have a Brebbia that looks not unlike that.
I simply love that style of rustication -- sharp edges, deep crags.

Love the rustication - beautiful work. I think rusticated pipes are some of my favorite finishes - even over smooth grain. There is something about the "roughness in the hand feel" that is wonderful in the hand while smoking.
