Just curious as secretary. What do you think we could do better? Is your club a member club? If not why? I honestly would like both feedback and criticism (if warranted)

Hello Andre. I do not believe that The Hartford Reading Society is a member of UPCA. We are an informal group, no dues or officers. How would our group benefit by joining UPCA ?

Goodness that sounds ominous. Had to look up the UPCA. Appears to have been founded years after I started smoking, what do they do?

Here is the link to their website that explains their history and purpose:

It isn’t meant to be ominous. There could be a good reason. One that we are overlooking and can fix on our end. Not all reasons are bad. Maybe an organization has a good reason not to be a part but is no longer valid? Maybe they didn’t like the board at the time they considered joining. Something like that.

Hey Tony. Believe it or not I’ve been waiting for this discussion. I’ve got your number. Why don’t I give you a call some night soon.

Didn't the Hells Angels start that way? United Pipe Clubs of America sounds way to organized. How does it work if you pipe club is organized as a group of Anarcho Syndicalist Pipe Smokers or worse still how would the National Socialist 3rd Shock Brigade Pipe Group of Brooklyn fit in? I wonder if Lou from the NY Pipe Club has had any contact with you. Well good luck with the whole thing and I'll mention you to our Florida group when we get together.

I believe KC was a member of this organization at one time. Seems like as some of us "Old Heads" lost interest none of the new guys had any interest in it.

I had been mulling this over for a while... decided to go ahead and become a due paying(individual) member. Not sure I will use it for any particular reason, but wanted to support financially. Did the same thing with the GKCPC. My thoughts on what the UPCA could do better? Update your website? If I were merely judging by my first visit, I would assume it's abandoned. Have a bigger presence on facebook and possibly discord? I don't do facebook, but discord seems to be a place for growing tobacco discussion and camaraderie. GPC has really done a lot in this arena, but if there were an overall US club, that had the local clubs/members broken into channels, would be pretty cool. IDK just spitballing here. Possibly more support for rural clubs? I am taking a shot at starting one in my area later this month... do you offer any tools/guidance for getting it off the ground?
