Excuse me, this is only semi related:

I was once drunk from drinking Thunderbirds and the boat I was on sank.

It was cold too, and dark. It took all night to swim and walk out of that lake.

I drink it straight from the bottle in one gulp. It's not a taste thing, it's an effect thing (tummy calming).

It tastes fine if you really like amaros, but it's not sweet at all so it takes a bit of getting used to it as a sipper.
