Definitely the first Charatan I've seen that looked anything like that. Will be very interested to hear what some Charatan aficionados have to say.

My first thought was the pipe looked unfinished!

That said, some folk really like that style (I have at least one somewhere I bought in a joblot) and it being a Charatan I would wager it's a piece of quality briar.

Like John above, I too thought of Ken Barnes when I saw the pipe.

Yes, thanks! I brought this when I went to the Chicago Pipe Show and had the chance to show it to Paul Bender (CPCC Treasurer and Charatan Society) - He liked the piece and appraised it at around 350 to 400 bucks! I am going to get it restrored (It was deemed in pretty good shape).
