I will have to do some checking. My understanding is that the Linkman's name stayed on the Hollycourt, but dropped from the Grabows. I do remember WWII ads letting people know that the Hollycourt would be returning. I suspect it was too metal-intensive to be made during the war.
The one thing I've learned in collecting estate pipes is that there is a dearth of information about just about all pipes. Seems that the companies were very lax about keeping records of what types of pipes were made during what time period.
That's like the Armellini. It's being called a Cavalier but the email I received from Armellini.it called it a "prejudice and a trumpet." I have no idea if something was lost in translation on that.
I smoked both pipes today. Both of them are great smokers considering what I paid for them.
Pappy:
You shot and scored.
The Linkman was a fine "get."
But that Armellini Cavalier will have everybody around here buzzing for a few days.
I'm glad they smoke well.

"I can see finding an Linkman at an antique store, but the Armellini Cavalier has to be an unusual find, very neat piece!"
+1 Jones. What a pipe!
30 Bucks! Who was it beating up on estates. Have truck, will travel.
