Reached out to him to ask about a commission and was pleasantly surprised to see that he had a number of beautiful pipes available. Three were pretty much exactly in line with what I might have ordered, and I chose two. He has been a pleasure to deal with. Hopefully the shipping goes smoothly (Fedex international so it should). Will post pics when they arrive. Nod to Hoosierpipeguy for posting pics of his pipes a while back which really caught my eye.

I love his pipes but wish that he had an easier way to purchase them. Is the only way to buy from him to contact him directly via email and ask about availability or just keep looking at pipes2smoke and waiting for one I like?
The pipes arrived on Tuesday right on time and are even nicer than I expected. I was a bit leary of dealing with hin through Facebook Messenger but it worked perfectly - he was responsive to all questions and provided ample pictures and exact dimensions when asked. Payment was through Paypal. I was quite surprised that he had a pretty good selection of pipes available, and also offered to make a pipe for me if I didnt see any I liked. If you dont use facebook he has a gmail account as well. If you are interested in his pipes just reach out to him rather than wait for pipes2smoke.
I’ve admired his work for years & have never heard anyone complain regarding his work or processing. Enjoy the pipes.

Having smoked a bowl through each of my new pipes I get it. “It” being the difference between a factory made pipe - even my high end ones like ashton, castello and ser jacopo - and an artisan pipe. To me these Jose Rubio pipes are the perfect synthesis of artisanship and engineering. Fit and finish is flawless. Bowls are smooth as glass. No stain leaching over onto the briar. Sandblast and feel of the pipes is incredible. Pipe cleaner glides through the stem and into the bowl. Draw is open and they smoke beautifully. Only downside is I dont want to smoke my other pipes.
