So i am 21 years old and have been smoking a pipe for just a couple months but instantly fell in love with it. Before that me and my friends used to get together and smoke cigars and just have a good time. Ever sing i have started smoking a pipe i have been a little uneasy to smoke my pipes in front of them i guess cause i wasnt sure how they would react, So i started smoking in front of only one of them and next thing i knew he was smoking one of my pipes and asking where he could get one at. Long story short i have now gotten 6 of my friends started smoking pipes and it keeps them coming back wanting more. It is an awesome feeling taking 6 people into your local B&M and watching their faces light up whenever they see everything in the store. All of my friends are around my same age and never took to piping because they thought it would be to much work smoking it, but they all love it now. DONT GIVE UP HOPE ON THE YOUNGER GENERATIONS AND SMOKING PIPES!! They all said it was very relaxing and calming. I just thought i would share with you guys.

Sounds like you might just have the makings of a Pipe Club for your town (assuming, of course, you don't already have on to attend)!

I dont know why i was like that but its definitely a good boost for me to not be so conscious about it. Nathaniel yes i am in Tampa and guess what? I just found out last week that there is a pipe club that meets here in tampa that i had no clue was there.
that's purty sweet... Tampa is a bit far to drive regularly for me, but I've been thinking maybe attending the St. Augustine Pipe Club. Plus my wife LOVES St. Augustine (we honeymooned there), so it would be easier for me to get here convinced on spending gas money on that rather than going to Tampa. But for kicks, in case the opportunity comes up, when do they meet and how often?
Yea that is kind of a far drive for you. St. Augustine is a real nice area i didn't know they had a pipe club out there though i might have to check them out one day. Gas can get a bit expensive now days haha. They meet on saturdays in the morning is when they start and they pretty much go all day, they meet at Edward's pipe and tobacco in tampa.
Good job! If you get to that Edward's you might run into an older gent by the name of Dave Whitney( not sure if that is the Edward's he goes to) but if you do, it would be well worth your time to sit and talk with him for a while. Watch him though-he might try to sell you a pipe!
Does he work there?? I believe i have meet him in one of my trips there but didnt get a chance to sit and talk. I was thinking of heading down there tomorrow so ill have to see if he is there or not. All the people that i have meet down there are very friendly and helpful.
Paul i was just thinking about how it seems as if there is a generational gap between the younger pipe smokers and the older ones. At my local B&M all the older fellas there always seem so surprised to see us younger kids walk in but i think its a good surprise. Glad you turned some of your friends on to it and its even cooler that you wife now does it with you!

No,he doesn't work there. I'm not really sure if the Edwards you're talking about is the same one he goes to. Can't remember the name of the town he lives in. He's retired and spends a lot of time restoring and selling pipes-if you shop around Ebay much you probably have seen some of his stuff.I got to meet him last year and over the course of a couple of days got to know him a little.We correspond regularly through email and the forums. Very knowledgeable about pipes and a variety of other subject. A very interesting person and quite friendly!
