Turning Around A Hot Smoke

When you start off a bowl smoking too fast and a bit too hot, do you feel you can turn it around into a great smoke mid bowl, or do you feel it can never be as good as starting off slow?

For me, I just set the pipe down and let it completely go out, and start again. But, I rarely ever have to do this these days.

If you smoke too hot for too long the accumulated moisture and some chemical evil magic will ruin your bowl.
So just pause if it gets hot. Let it cool down before relighting. Then it should be OK.

I just let it sit down until cooler to the touch and usually it's still burning at that point.

When you find you're smoking too hot, you just gotta go for it. Finish what you started. Smoke that sucker fast and hard, all the way down. You don't want to show the pipe any weakness/mercy, or it'll never respect you.

typically, i'll stop and contemplate if dinosaurs truly died from smoking unfiltered cigarettes. sip some diet drinks and wonder further if mona lisa was a man. by that time, the bowl will be cooler and i should be able to continue smoking.

While I think some high-sugar content virginias cannot be resuscitated, usually just slowing down will bring a smoke back to life.
