Nope, no issues.

Where ever you're going though, make sure you bring enough. I didn't and wound up paying $40 for a tin of Mac B Vanilla Cream (that was the only affordable choice. HH Virginia was $66) over here in Hawaii...

Nope. Only if your "profile" warrants a hassle. There are lots of triggers, tobacco isn't one. Well, an unmarked tin or such could be "probable cause" if other indicators are present I suppose. But, the experience of others is only anecdotal. You may get the agent having issues that day. Or, you may be on the "list."

I've never had a problem, not even a side glance... but, I've seen TSA do weird stuff to other people in front of me. This is why I always leave the tobaccos in their tins. If it is in a baggy, and if they are in a hurry, I've seen TSA toss stuff into that little pipe they have that was perfectly ok to carry. I imagine if you caught them in a bad mood, they'd easily toss your tobacco before even asking you what it was. If it is in a tin, they'd probably not give it a second thought.

I think they have rules and stuff posted somewhere.
You must be one of these people who thinks that "the authorities" never make mistakes, haha. I've seen all sorts of legal stuff get tossed, right in front of the owners look of audacity. "Hey, that's just a hairbrush!" "plop" into the tube of doom it goes. They don't even really respond to the complaints.

Depends on what you have. If it's McC, they'll confiscate it, to be marked up and sold later. If it's a goopy aromatic, they'll take you into the back room and rough you up a little, and force you to buy nothing but Stonehaven for the rest of your smoking days. If you deviate in the slightest, that's right...more beatings.

This is why I fly out of Burbank instead of LAX... ?

far from it! In fact the scarist fact is that society is made from people and people are well funked up over confident depression prone apes with wide spread superiority complexes

I have never had an issue with pipe tobacco.
I did have an issue once with one agent, he asked me if I had anything to declare flying from Asheville to someplace else in the states, I said no, he told me to open my wallet, he said HA! You have money in there!
